What a Great First Summer!
Truth be told, it’s very, very hot here in Arizona. That’s why you try to get out of Arizona by any means possible during the summertime. Cadence had her share of traveling experiences this summer, and she survived them all! She’s a great traveler.
It all started off back in May when Cadie and Mom visited Brent’s parents and family and friends up in the Seattle area. It certainly rained, but it was so beautiful there. Cadie truly enjoyed meeting her Spore side of the family and loved jumping in the jumper that they bought for her.
June was certainly an intense month of traveling. Cadie and parents went to the Refuge youth camp up in Big Bear, CA. She did wonderfully on the road trip. She loved checking out all the big beautiful trees and of course enjoyed being held by oh so many teenagers and youth leaders. It was a blast. We were also roommates with Candace and her 7-month old (at the time) Corbin. That was great fun.
From Big Bear, we traveled up to Vallejo, CA with the teenagers to help with a kid’s sports camp at a local church along with a huge community outreach. The coolest part was that Cadie and Mom/Dad stayed with Grandma Carol Ann and got to spend some great quality moments together. Cadie also met many of her cousins and her ‘great’ Aunt and Uncle.
After spending a few weeks at home in Arizona, helping with a summer youth program (she did help!), Dad, Mom & Cadie were off to La Mision, Baja, CA. First of all the weather is PERFECT there. Secondly, it’s right on the ocean. Wow!! We took the teenagers down to help build homes and help a local childcare ministry for poor families. Yes, Cadie’s a little missionary now. Grandma Carol Ann came too, and was a huge help with the kids at the childcare center, as well as a big help hanging out with Cadence. (Did I mention that Grandma Carol Ann, Mom & Cadence got to stay in a really cool hotel, right on the ocean?)
In August, it was back on the road again. We spent a few days in Las Vegas at the New Media Expo. Cadie got to meet lots of new internet friends. It was such fun! We drove from Vegas to Southern California so that Dad to get some work done for some clients. Cadie also got to visit Disneyland for the very first time. So special. We’ve got plans to return there shortly with some family.
Cadie is 7 months now! At her 6 month check-up she was 27 1/2 ” long and 15.8 lbs. So she’s certainly bigger than that now. She’s still at the 95% for height - a tall chica indeed! Cadence is rolling around all the time, sitting up on her own, and crawling in reverse. And she’s all smiles and full of love.
Thanks for taking a moment to read up on Cadie’s adventures. Be sure to check out Daddy’s & Mommy’s videos they made for her:
